Return and refund policy
Last updated: March 2026
These terms and conditions of sale apply to all purchases made from PIGS Digitaltrykk / PIGS imaging AS, whether the purchase is made via the online shop at pigs.no, by email or in person at the studio. The terms and conditions have been drawn up in accordance with the Norwegian Consumer Sales Act, the Right of Withdrawal Act and the Marketing Act.
Section 1 About the business
PIGS imaging AS is a Hahnemühle Certified Studio located in the centre of Oslo. We have been producing giclée prints and FineArt prints since 2013 for artists, photographers, galleries, businesses and private individuals.
All production orders are carried out on an individual, made-to-order basis – we do not keep ready-made items in stock.
Section 2 Ordering and entering into a contract
The contract is deemed to have been concluded once the order has been confirmed by PIGS via email or the online shop’s order confirmation. For orders placed via the guidance service (email/form), confirmation will be sent manually.
We reserve the right to decline orders if files do not meet the minimum requirements for resolution, format or technical suitability, or if the project cannot be completed to a satisfactory standard for other reasons.
Section 3 Prices and payment
All prices on pigs.no are quoted in Norwegian kroner (NOK) including VAT, unless otherwise stated. Delivery charges apply unless otherwise specified in the order.
Payment in the online shop is made at the time of ordering. Orders for guidance services are invoiced upon collection or dispatch, unless otherwise agreed.
PIGS reserves the right to correct obvious pricing errors in the online shop. In such cases, the customer will be notified and may choose to proceed with or cancel the order.
Section 4 Bespoke products and the right to cancel
The majority of PIGS’s products are bespoke items manufactured on the basis of the customer’s own files, measurements and choice of materials. Such goods are expressly excluded from the Right of Withdrawal Act (Right of Withdrawal Act, Section 22(b) – goods manufactured to the consumer’s specifications).
This means that you do not normally have a right of withdrawal for prints, framed works, mounted prints, scans or other services carried out in accordance with your instructions. This exception does not apply to items we may sell from stock (e.g. rolls of paper, standard frames) – these are subject to the standard 14-day right of withdrawal.
If you are unsure whether the right of withdrawal applies to your order, please contact us at in** @** gs.no before you book.
Section 5 File requirements and the customer’s responsibilities
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the files supplied are technically correct and suitable for the desired format and printing medium. We recommend:
TIFF or PSD as preferred file formats
High-quality JPEG, PNG, PDF or AI files are accepted
300 ppi at the desired print size
Colour space: Adobe RGB or sRGB – not CMYK
PIGS accepts responsibility only for the accurate reproduction of the file as supplied. We do not carry out automatic colour correction, retouching or upscaling without prior agreement. If the file is supplied in a format we have not recommended, or if it deviates from the minimum requirements, production will be carried out at our discretion – without any guarantee that the result will match what is possible with an optimal file.
Colour reproduction: Screen displays are not colour-matched to our printed output unless you have used our ICC profile and a calibrated display environment. Discrepancies between the screen and the print that fall within what we professionally consider to be normal production variation do not constitute grounds for a complaint. Obvious production errors – incorrect colour profile, banding/stripes, incorrect cropping – will be assessed and replaced in accordance with § 6.
Section 6 Complaints – manufacturing defects and damage in transit
PIGS bears the risk for the goods until they have actually been delivered to the buyer, in accordance with Section 14 of the Consumer Sales Act. This also applies to damage occurring during transport.
You have the right to make a complaint about goods that:
is damaged on delivery – regardless of whether the damage occurred during transport or on our premises
has been produced incorrectly (wrong paper, wrong size, wrong file, obvious colour cast, banding, incorrect cropping)
in some other way differs significantly from the order
How to advertise:
Please report any issues as soon as possible – ideally within 7 days of receipt. This is not a strict deadline, but a practical recommendation: visible damage and faults are easiest to document whilst the packaging and product are still in good condition, and reporting issues sooner leads to a quicker resolution.
Claims made within two months of the fault being discovered are always dealt with in accordance with Section 27 of the Consumer Sales Act.
Send an e-mail to in** @** gs.no or use the form at pigs.no/skademelding
Please attach clear photos of the damage/fault – including the packaging if the damage occurred during transit
We deal with complaints on an ongoing basis and offer:
New production and new dispatch – this is our standard service
Partial or full reimbursement – where new production is not appropriate
We cannot offer compensation for:
Damage occurring after the goods have been delivered and accepted
Errors caused by defects in the file provided by the customer
Claims where the fault was apparent on receipt and the notification was sent more than two months after receipt
If the packaging is visibly damaged on delivery: please note this to the carrier upon receipt (Bring, PostNord, DHL or another courier service) and take photographs immediately. This will help us to process the matter and facilitate any compensation from the carrier.
The right to make a complaint under consumer sales legislation applies for up to two years after receipt (Section 27 of the Consumer Sales Act). The deadline is deemed to have been met if the notification is sent before the deadline expires.
Section 7 Return
Please do not return any goods without first obtaining our written consent.
If a claim is accepted, PIGS will cover the return postage. The product must be packed securely, preferably in its original packaging or equivalent.
Section 8 Refund
If a refund is granted, the amount will be refunded via the same payment method used for the purchase. The processing time is normally 3–5 working days after the claim has been approved. You will receive confirmation by email.
Section 9 Delivery and shipping
Standard production time is 1–3 working days from receipt of the approved file. Orders involving soft proofing, testing, canvas stretching or framing may have a longer delivery time – this will be specified at the time of ordering.
Collection from the studio: Christian Krohgs gate 34, Oslo – Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm.
Domestic deliveries are handled by Bring, PostNord or similar carriers. International shipments are sent via PostNord or DHL, depending on the destination and package size.
Free delivery on orders over NOK 1,500 incl. VAT (applies to domestic shipments).
Section 10 Privacy
PIGS processes personal data (name, address, email address, order history) solely for the purpose of fulfilling and managing your order. We do not share your details with third parties beyond what is necessary for delivery and payment. Read our full privacy policy at pigs.no/personvernerklaering.
Section 11 Disputes
Any disputes will be resolved amicably. If we cannot reach an agreement, consumers may lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Consumer Authority (forbrukertilsynet.no) or use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/odr). Norwegian law applies to all purchases made via pigs.no.
