Solid wood frames
- Natural look in oak, birch, walnut, black or white.
- Multiple profile widths (narrow to wide) and heights for deeper designs.
- Recommended for fine-art papers and original works for a warm, tactile feel.
Profile, colour and finish
- Profile width: Narrow profile emphasises the subject; wide profile gives more visual weight.
- Colour/finish: Matt to avoid glare; stained/oiled wood for visible grain; solid black/white for neutral framing.
- Customisation: Customised to measure, including deep profiles for flush mounting and passepartout with wide edge.

How we work
Part 1: printing
- Assessment: motif, dimensions, desired expression and further use (exhibition, sale, private), possible white border.
- File control and colour management: resolution/profile check, soft-proof after paper selection (ICC).
- Test print (optional): small sample to confirm contrast, saturation and white edge before full production (NOK 170,- incl VAT).
- Production: printing on selected paper with pigment inks
Part 2: framing
- Choice of framing: frame profile in wood/aluminium, glass (regular/anti-reflective/museum) and passepartout/backboard.
- Installation: clean installation with acid-free materials if required; flow installation or classic cut-out as desired.
- Quality control: review of print, cut, fit, glass and suspension before sealing.
- Delivery: pick-up in Oslo at Artifix's premises at St.Hanshaugen or Sagene. Secure dispatch with tracking up to A3/30x40cm - see Shipping and collection.
Frequently asked questions
- What frame types do you offer?
Wooden and aluminium frames in several profiles/colours. Classic, slim gallery frame or deep shadow frame - we recommend based on motif and size. - What glass options are available?
Standard glass, anti-glare, UV-protective and museum glass. - What about passepartout and backing paper?
Acid-free passepartout (white/warm white/black) is cut to size. Backing boards are acid-free; we use archival-friendly materials as standard. - Mounting method?
Archive-friendly hinging (e.g. Japanese paper/archival tape) that does not damage the work. Dry mounts (e.g. on capaplate) can be supplied if required. - Can you frame to print at PIGS?
We do. We print, deliver directly to the framing workshop and coordinate collection/delivery. One point of contact from file to finished framed work. - Delivery time?
Usually 7-14 working days depending on profile, glass and traffic at the frame workshop. Rush orders are possible according to capacity. - What does it cost?
Price depends on dimensions, profile and glass. We provide a quick estimate based on external dimensions and glass selection. - What is the maximum size?
Depends on profile and glass. We assess stiffness/weight and suggest a safe solution. Maximum size for printing and framing is approximately 140x200cm. - Can you deliver in Oslo?
Yes, we can. We can arrange delivery in the Oslo area. Shipping of fully framed works outside Oslo is agreed separately. - Is it ready to hang on the wall?
Yes, the frames come with hangers and are ready to hang on the wall. We can recommend a hanging solution and advise on size and placement in the room.
