What is the difference between with and without proofreading?

Without proofreading, we deliver the raw output from the OCR process – quickly and at a lower price. With proofreading, we review the text using artificial intelligence (AI) to correct errors caused by poor scan quality, unusual fonts or complex layouts. Recommended for documents intended for official publication or archiving.

What happens to my originals?

They are handled with care and returned in their original condition. We pack them securely for return and can post them.

Can I combine OCR with the scanning of artworks?

Do you have manuscripts, archive documents or reports that exist only in paper form? We scan the original in black and white at 300 dpi and let Claude – one of the world’s most advanced AI models – read and convert the text. The result is fully searchable and editable files delivered as .txt, .docx and .pdf, ready for use, archiving or further editing.

Unlike traditional OCR software, Claude reads the document with an understanding of context, layout and language – resulting in greater accuracy, particularly with older documents and complex page layouts.

If you need extra accuracy, we can run a separate proofreading round. It’s faster than a human review and significantly more cost-effective.

What is OCR?

OCR is a technology that reads text from a scanned image and converts it into real, editable text – just as if you had typed it yourself. The result is a file that you can search, copy from, edit and index. Without OCR, a scanned document is just an image of text. With OCR, it becomes live content.

A customer wishes to digitise a 52-page paper manuscript, including AI proofreading:

Start-up fee: NOK 99
52 × NOK 30 = NOK 1,560
10% discount on the total (– NOK 166)
= Total: NOK 1,493 incl. VAT

If the customer also chooses proofreading, the total will be NOK 1,727 incl. VAT.
